ADVISORY: Phase II Driving Circulation Changes for Presidio Parkway

  

Circulation Changes in the Presidio for Phase II Construction Doyle Drive is not the only roadway that changed in the Presidio last month! In order to achieve seismic safety and make room for Phase II construction of the Presidio Parkway project, several routes through the Presidio were altered.  These changes will be in effect through the end of 2015, when the completed Presidio Parkway will reopen to traffic! Phase II of construction will include the twin High Viaduct and Battery Tunnel, the new Main Post Tunnels, and a new interchange to Marina Boulevard and Richardson Avenue at the eastern end of the project. Long-Term Road Closures/Circulations Changes in the Presidio Beginning April 23, 2012

Long-Term Local Road Closures Beginning April 23 On Monday April 23, Halleck Street and Marshall Street will close. The slip ramp (left exit to the Presidio from Richardson Avenue) will close shortly after. These roads must be closed to construct the at-grade temporary detour road which will be open to traffic on April 30.  Halleck Street will reopen when the project is complete. Marshall Street and the slip ramp will remain closed permanently. The Doyle Drive weekend closure is just one week away! For up to date information

Doyle Drive Weekend Closure -- April 27-30th -- Public Meetings Series

Doyle Drive Weekend Closure Public Meeting Series Please join the Presidio Parkway project team at one of our upcoming public meetings for a special construction update! Staff will give a construction status update and an overview of the upcoming weekend closure of Doyle Drive, when crews will demolish the aging structure and shift traffic onto the seismically safe temporary bypass. There will be an opportunity to ask staff questions about the project.  The date for the weekend closure will be announced soon! Doyle Drive Weekend Closure -- April 27-30th

 

Doyle Drive Weekend Closure, April 27-30 A historic event is on the horizon – Doyle Drive is coming down! Traffic will soon be taken off the aging roadway and moved onto a seismically safe, temporary bypass. The new route will connect the Golden Gate Bridge to San Francisco across a new bridge, tunnel and temporary roadway. Traffic will remain on this route until construction is complete in 2015.  In order to begin demolition of Doyle Drive and complete the temporary roadway, Doyle Drive will be closed for one full weekend, April 27-30, from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. During this time, noisy demolition activities will occur 24 hours a day. Highway 1 to and from the Golden Gate Bridge will remain open, however, expect major delays. Motorists are encouraged to use the Bay Bridge to San Francisco. Bus and ferry service will be modified during the closure weekend. For more information, visit 511.org. When the roadway reopens on Monday morning, travelers will experience a new driving condition on the temporary detour. Expect delays as drivers adjust! Please help us spread the word to other Bay Area drivers to ensure a safe and successful closure weekend.
