Dear Neighbor: On June 2, 2011 the San Francisco VA Medical Center will be joining VA Medical Center’s across the country to host a 2K Walk and Roll, benefitting homeless Veterans and promoting health and wellness. Employees and Veterans will be taking part in a 1.2 mile/15-20 minute walk/roll which will begin at our Community Living Center (Building 208), and will go down 38th Avenue and back. The walks will be held at 7:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12 noon. All participants will be walking/rolling on public sidewalks and no vehicular traffic or roadways will be affected or impacted.If interested, you are invited to take part in this activity, to show your support for Veterans. There is no entry fee but participants are encouraged to donate an item for homeless or in-need Veterans. Items being accepted include: new socks, knit caps and granola bars. Please arrive a few minutes before the scheduled start time to register and receive your free visor!
