Our free annual Golden Gate Park concert, Opera in the Park, will take place on September 9 at 1:30pm.
Join us for arias al fresco as we celebrate the opening of San Francisco Opera's 90th Season with stars from the fall operas including Nicole Cabell, Aleksandra Kurzak, Albina Shagimuratova, Kendall Gladen, Arturo Chacón-Cruz, Francesco Demuro, Saimir Pirgu, Zeljko Lučić, Eric Owens and Andrea Silvestrelli. With Adler Fellows Nadine Sierra, Marina Harris, Laura Krumm, Brian Jagde and Joo Won Kang, accompanied by the acclaimed San Francisco Opera Orchestra, conducted by Music Director Nicola Luisotti.
Bring a picnic and enjoy this outdoor concert. Food and beverages will also be available for sale at the event.
Be sure and submit an enter-to-win form at the event-forms will be available at the San Francisco Opera marketing booth and in the concert program. Attendees who submit their form at the event will be eligible for our Night at the Opera drawing. One lucky winner will receive two orchestra tickets to Puccini's Tosca, dinner for two at Absinthe restaurant and champagne at intermission!

About Sunday Streets:
Sunday Streets is San Francisco's official block party- a sorta-monthly roving neighborhood celebrationwhere the streets are closed to vehicles so pedestrians, roller skaters, bicyclists, yoga classes... whoever can take over for an afternoon.
The September 9th, 2012 event will take place: Fillmore Street between Fulton and Geary, Fulton Street between Fillmore and Baker, Baker Street between McAllister and Grove, Grove Street between Broderick and Central, and Central Avenue between Grove and Fell Street.

Special Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at 11 a.m.Join Supervisors Scott Wiener and David Campos, San Francisco Recreation and Park Department General Manager Phil Ginsburg, the City Fields Foundation, neighbors and park advocates for the grand reopening ceremony of Mission Playground. The event will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, music, food trucks, an outdoor picnic and fun games for children and families.The newly renovated Mission Playground includes two children's play areas, a clubhouse for SF Rec and Park's Inclusion Center, and athletic fields funded by the City Fields Foundation. The overall Mission Playground renovation is funded by the 2008 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond.American Sign Language interpretation will be provided. Are you interested in sharing a cup of coffee with Mayor Lee and discussing important community issues on July 14, 2012 in District 10?
To join Mayor Lee for Citywide Community Coffees, residents are invited to call 311, where they can leave their name, contact information, and brief details about the issue they would like to discuss with the Mayor. Participants in the community coffee with Mayor Lee will be selected at random. Residents will be notified of their appointment the Thursday prior to the meeting.
