Advisory, Closures on Doyle Drive

Last Northbound Exit on Hwy 101/Doyle Drive Closed November 29 & 30, 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. As part of the work to improve circulation around the Southeast Visitor Plaza, on November 29 & 30 from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., the last northbound exit on Highway 101/Doyle Drive just before the Golden Gate Bridge Toll Plaza will be closed. There will be no access to the Southeast Visitor Plaza area or Lincoln Boulevard from northbound Highway 101 or northbound Highway 1 during this closure. Drivers should use local roads to access Lincoln Boulevard. View the advisory for a map with detour routes. Drivers traveling between the Richmond and Marina Districts should use city streets during this closure. All dates are subject to change due to weather and unforeseen conditions. Overnight Closure of Southbound Hwy 101/Doyle Drive to Southbound Hwy 1/Park Presidio Boulevard Friday, June 24 at 8:00 p.m. – Saturday, June 25 at 11:00 a.m. Beginning Friday, June 24 at 8:00 p.m. through Saturday, June 25 at 11:00 a.m. the ramp from southbound Highway 101/Doyle Drive to southbound Highway 1/Park Presidio Boulevard will be closed.  The exit from southbound Hwy 101 to southbound Hwy 1 will be moved to the north and will become a mandatory two lane exit that will temporarily merge to one lane. Vehicles traveling to southbound Hwy 1 will need to merge right earlier than the previous alignment. Drivers should be aware of the new roadway alignment and lane conditions. Doyle Drive Update

 

Temporary Bypass Construction is Underway Construction of a temporary bypass road for the Presidio Parkway project began in early 2011. The bypass is expected to be finished in late 2011 along with the southbound High Viaduct and Battery Tunnel. Once complete, traffic will be shifted onto these structures to allow crews to demolish the existing Doyle Drive and complete work on the final Presidio Parkway. This shift also moves traffic onto a roadway that meets today’s seismic standards, which is a major project milestone. Doyle Drive Closure and Traffic Shift in Late 2011 Doyle Drive will be closed for an extended weekend in late 2011 in order to transfer traffic onto the completed temporary bypass, tunnel and bridge.  The connection between Park Presidio Blvd/Hwy 1 and the Golden Gate Bridge will remain open during this closure. Overnight Closure, Southbound 101/1 Saturday 8/14-Sunday 8/15

This may affect people driving to the Outsidelands concert Sunday in Golden Gate Park, as well as people returning to the City on Saturday from a night out in the North Bay.

Overnight Closure of Southbound Hwy 101/Doyle Drive to Southbound Hwy 1 Saturday, August 14 at 10 p.m. – Sunday, August 15 at 11 a.m. Beginning Saturday, August 14 at 10:00 p.m. through Sunday, August 15 at 11:00 a.m. the ramp from southbound Highway 101/Doyle Drive to southbound Highway 1/Park Presidio Boulevard will be closed. The ramp closure is necessary in order to shift the southbound Highway 1 offramp to the north and continue Highway 101/1 interchange improvements. Closure times were selected due to the expected low volume of traffic. Motorists should be aware of the new roadway alignment and use caution in construction zones. Please expect traffic delays on Sunday morning. Optional trips should be avoided during this closure. View the advisory for more information and detour routes.
